IMPACT of providing Grocery Kits to Mid Day Meal Cooks in collaboration with RIST-PFC – Phase I – Telangana

Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and  ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) has been reaching out to support  GOVT MID DAY MEAL (MDM) COOKS.

 

As a part of this relief programme during Phase-I of the project, 500 MDM cooks in Telangana state received 1 Month dry ration kits. Areas covered are Bibi nagar, Thurkapalli, Rajapet, Musthabad, Sircilla & Bhongiri mandals  in Sircilla & Bhongiri districts of Telangana.

 

Second wave of covid has affected people of all walks of life as a surprise & has hit hard without much notice. Mid-day meal cooks were the ones who filled the stomach’s of children in Govt schools during regular times. So it was our responsibility & duty to first address their needs during this pandemic.

In Bibinagar mandal of Bhongiri district, an event took place in the presence of many dignitaries. Ganesh Reddy – Vice MPP, M.Srinivas – District Arya Vysya president, M.Ravikumar – Mandal Surpanch forum president, Nuri Swapna, G.Balachandar, Beemla Nayak, G.Andalu – All MPTC members, Sudarahan, Bala Mallesh, Ramesh Yadav, K.Lingaiah Goud – All Sarpanches.

In the words of Ramamurthy garu – Annapoorna Telangana state incharge explained the analogy of people standing in the queue in temples after the darshan to receive theertham & prasadam. Likewise distribution of grocery kits to needy mid day meal cooks need to be partaken as prasadam, wherein it would give divine energy & vitality. Once mixed with the eatables & rations at home, this would become Akshaya Patra by protecting each & every family in this time of pandemic & also grace them with good future & abundance. He narrated the previous incident which took place at Musthyala mandal of Siddipet district which had a strength of 400 children having groceries worth which could only last for a month. Mainly due to the fact of the belief in the cause that this is benefiting deserved children, nature had bestowed upon them to get it lasted for 3 months.

One of the ladies who was a recipient of a grocery kit spoke on this occasion to state that, because Annapoorna is giving, Our families are benefited. Offered her gratitude towards the trust for helping them at a time where there is no work, no salary & having shortage of eatables at home.

Another lady spoke on this occasion to narrate that, previously you have served breakfast to children which is very good & has resulted in good health, education & attendance in school. Currently we are grateful for having identified us by providing grocery kits to take care of our families.

Ms. Kala garu, Municipal Chairman & Mr.Chikkala rama rao Garu, TSSEZ Chairman presided during the occasion of distribution of kits to MDM cooks in Sircilla District on 12th June.

Likewise on 20th June in Bhongir district headquarters, programme took place in the presence of dignitaries Mw.Nirmala Narala garu, Laxmi garu – Councillor, Mr.Venkatesh – District TRS Leader, Andalu garu – Mandal education officer along with Head Master, teachers of school & volunteers.

Each kit consists of 10kg of rice, 2kg of wheat flour, 1 kg of toor dal, 1kg chana dal, 1L cooking oil, 2kg of sugar, 1kg of salt, vermicelli, chilly powder, jeera, mustard and turmeric.
