Covid Pre-emptive Nutritional Intervention Programme for needy Anganwadi children in Ramanagara district

Annapoorna has come up with an innovative solution of a balanced protein based health supplement SaiSure TM, supplied free of cost that can be mixed with milk which is supplied by Government of Karnataka under Ksheera Bhagya Scheme. This supplement meets the requirements of macronutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, fats, as well as micronutrients like vitamins and minerals for the growing children & has resulted in marked improvement in health parameters such as – decline in wasting, stunting, malnutrition and better BMI in children.

As a preventive measure to protect children from the anticipated third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, this SaiSure health mix is primarily focused to be given to Anganwadi and MAM (Moderately Acute Malnourished) children so that they are less vulnerable to the attack across different districts in Karnataka.

On 17th June 2021, Launch of Covid Pre-emptive Nutritional Intervention Programme for needy Anganwadi children took place at Ramanagara DC Office in the presence of Smt. Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle (Minister of Women and Child Development and Empowerment of Differently Abled, Seniorcitizens, Govt of Karnataka) Shri. Ikram IAS (Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Ramanagara) and Shri Bharani Prasad (Director at SaiSure Nutritions LLP) along with other dignitaries.

Honourable minister was keen to know more about the SaiSure product. Shri. Bharani Prasad went on to brief her that it is designed to meet the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of most of the micronutrients and would increase resistance power to external infections & also aid in increasing their body weight. It is approved by FSSAI, India’s top food safety and standards regulatory body and is manufactured in a facility approved by the FDA (USA). Smt. Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle conveyed she was well aware of the fact that SaiSure was being consumed across Anganwadi & primary school children so far in many districts like Chikkaballapur, Tumkur, Dharwad, Mandya, Gulbarga, Vijayapura districts & also being consumed by MAM(Moderately Acute Malnourished) children in districts of Raichur & Yadgir. Due to the fact that it is easily scalable, cost effective & at the same time aiding in addressing the undernutrition & malnutrition in children in a short time, she said she looked forward to expanding its presence across the Karnataka state.
