Groceries for Mid day meal cooks in Yerragondapalem, Andhra Pradesh

 

Annapoorna Trust, on Wednesday, 16th June 2021, reached out with 175 grocery kits to needy families of rural government school cooks in Yerragondapalem Mandal, Prakasam District in Andhra Pradesh. Due to the pandemic, these families are currently unable to make ends meet and unable to sustain themselves. This is a part of the programme of Annapoorna Trust in collaboration with ‘Rural India Supporting Trust’ (RIST) and ‘Partnerships For Change’ (PFC) reaching out to 15,000 needy population in rural India, which is now reeling under the second wave of COVID-19. 

 

Formal inauguration of grocery kits distribution took place in the presence of Minister of Education, Sri Adimulapu Suresh on 09th June. Subsequently, on 16th June, distribution of grocery kits was made in the presence of MEO (Mandal Education Officer), Sri P. Anjaneyalu, MPDEO Sri Sai Kumar along with other dignitaries & volunteers. Each grocery kit that is distributed contains 10kg of rice, 2kg of wheat flour, 1 kg of toor dal, 1kg channa dal, 1 litre cooking oil, 2kg of sugar, 1kg of salt, vermicelli, along with spices such as chilli powder, jeera, mustard and turmeric.
