Annapoorna team in Coimbatore distributed 21 essential food grocery items to 85 needy families in three areas in Coimbatore. These families are of children studying in Annapoorna breakfast programme beneficiary schools in Ettimadai, Perur and Semmedu areas in Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu. The beneficiary families, due to covid-19 crisis, have been unble to make their ends meet.
Theni District, Tamil Nadu
May 23rd : Daily Essentials for 130 needy families in Theni District
Annapoorna team in Theni District periyakulam Taluk distributed essential food grocery items to 120 needy families of students studying in Annapoorna breakfast programme beneficiary Arogya madha Nagar primary puplic school. Essential food grocery items were also distributed to 10 poor old age people’s families. The beneficiary families, due to covid-19 crisis, have been unble to make their ends meet.
Pollachi, Tamil Nadu
May 21st : 200kgs of wheat flour has been handed over to the Kottur Panchayat in Pollachi.
This would be distributed to the Needy Tribal population.
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
May 21st : Fourth Phase of relief for migrants in Coimbatore
Annapoorna team handed over 1 tone of wheat flour to Annur Taluk office in Coimbatore District as a part of the last leg of relief in the area. The wheat flour will be distributed amongst the migrant workers famlies in Annur area after the necessary guidance and advice of the government authorities. Prior to this, the team had provided 9 tonnes of wheat flour over 3 earlier phases of relief work for the migrant population. In multiple other occasions, breakfast were also provided to some pockets of the migrants. Annapoorna thanks Sri Sai Bathri for his selfless efforts and continuous groundwork to help needy families during Covid-19 lockdown.
Sivakasi – Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu
May 13th: Covid-19 relief for 400 NCLP students’ families in Sivakasi – Virudhunagar district
Annapoorna team reached out to families of 400 needy children studying across various ‘National Child Labour Project’ schools in Sivakasi – Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu and also to familes of 53 children studying in Urampatti panchayat middle school and provided them with relief material to help them during the lockdown.
The relief materials provided comprised of 10kg of rice, 2kg of atta, turmeric powder, 1L sunflower oil, 500g of toor dal, salt, tamarind, black gram dal, mustard, fenugreek, and a couple of soaps.
Ettimadai – Coimbatore , Tamil Nadu
May 10th : Wheat flour distributed to 140 families in Ettimadai
Annapoorna team distributed 2kg of wheat flour for 140 needy families in Ettimadai in Coimbatore district in Tamil Nadu state, to help the families during the extended lockdown.
These families belong to children studying at Ettimadai’s government schools, which are beneficiary schools of Annapoorna breakfast programme.

May 8th : 125 needy families in Alandurai given wheat flour
Annapoorna team distributed 2kg of wheat flour to 125 families at Alandurai area.
The needy families belong to childre studying in Semmedu Govt Schools in the area, which is a part of Coimabtore district in Tamilnadu state.
Mettupalayam, Tamilnadu
May 7th: 148 families in Mettupalayam provided with wheat flour
Annapoorna team today reached out to the parents of children studying in the government school at Vedar colony in Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu state. These 148 families were provided with 2kg of wheat flour each, in order to help them during the extended Covid19 lockdown.
The school children, who are from needy families, are beneficiaries of Annapoorna breakfast programme, where Annapoorna regularly serves morning nutrition.
Coimbatore, Tamilnadu
May 4th: Third Phase of Corona Relief in Coimbatore
Annapoorna team had earlier reached out to the District Collector in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu state with over 6 tonnes of groceries, over 2 phases, in order to help the migrant workers’ families during these distressing times of COVID19.
Now, the team has gone ahead with the third phase of relief and has handed over another 3 tonnes of Wheat Atta to the District Collector of Coimbatore and other Senior Govt officials. This would be distributed to a minimum of 600 north India based migrant workers families in Thudiyalur Area (in the North Coimbatore Region).
Aadhi Thiruvarangam, Tamilnadu
May 2nd: 140 needy families in Aadhi Thiruvarangam receive groceries
Annapoorna volunteer collaborated with 4 other individuals in Kallakuruchi district in Tamil Nadu state to help 140 needy families in the ancient temple town of Aadhi Thiruvarangam. The families were provided with groceries, to help them during the ongoing nation wide lockdown.
The school headmaster from the village helped locate needy families, while the Deputy Superintendent of Police from the area joined during the distribution.
Meenambakam, Chennai
April 22nd: 40 families in Meenambakam receive daily grocery
Annapoorna team in Chennai have distributed daily groceries for needy families in Meenambakam area, near the airport, in Chennai. The team regularly serves morning breakfast at the Civil Aviation middle school, where the distribution took place. About 40 needy families have been provided with the daily groceries.
Coimbatore
April 21st: Second phase of relief for migrant workers in Coimbatore
Further to the previous phase of providing relief material to the tune of 3 tonnes, the team handed over another 3 tonnes of wheat flour (atta) and 150 kgs of Tea powder to help migrant workers in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. A majority of the migrant workers are from the northern part of the country.
The distribution has been coordinated with the guidance and advice of District Collector and North Region Tahsildar at Coimbatore, in order to provide relief materials during the current ongoing lockdown.
Annapoorna thanks Sri Sai Bathri and his wife for their selfless groundwork and immense support during the distribution of groceries and food Essentials during both the phases.

April 16th: Breakfast for tribals and migrant workers in Coimbatore
Annapoorna team reached out to over 100 needy people in Coimbatore’s Kovaipudur area to provide them with breakfast, comprising idlies with sambar and chutney. The breakfast was served to migrant workers and Narikuruvas (indegeneous tribe).

Grocery kits for daily wage workers in Avadi, Chennai
Annapoorna collaborated with Danirasa foundation to provide groceries to daily wage workers in Avadi, Chennai, in order to help them during the nation wide lockdown.
Hon. Minister for Tamil language, Tamil culture and Archaeology, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, Thiru K. Pandiarajan (Ma Foi K Pandiarajan) was present and distributed the groceries to the needy families. About 548 families, who are dependent on daily wages and are unable to earn their livelihood during the lockdown, benefitted from this distribution.

Meals for migrant workers in Chennai
In order to help migrant workers in Chennai during the nation wide lockdown, Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust along with Danirasa Foundation in conjunction with a Tamil Nadu State Government initiative (Mafoi Foundation) is serving a simple hot packed lunch for them.
• At present, 1500 workers are being served
• Annapoorna kitchen at Chennai has the capacity to feed 5000 workers
•The lunch being provided consists of rice and vegetables cooked under fully hygienic conditions using protective gear
•This is carried out under strict government supervision and licenced as an essential service to operate in tough times as these.

East Coast Road off Chennai
Annapoorna collaborated with Danirasa foundation to distribute daily essentials to 300 needy families that are residing in villages surrounding East Coast Road off Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
The families benefitted were from Naduvarkarai village (tribal settlements), Kothimangalam village, Mamallapuram and surrounding areas with priority to tribals and migrants, who do not have access to daily wages and are unable to make their ends meet during the lockdown.

Further to providing 300 migrant workers in Coimbatore with daily essentials on Friday (10th April), Annapoorna in collaboration with Sri Sathya Sai Maruthi Seva Trust handed over 3 tonnes of food material to the tahsildar at Sundarapuram campus in Coimbatore, on Saturday (11th April).
The food materials will be distributed among other northern India migrant workers, who do have access to daily income and other means.

45 packs rice each of 25 kg and 310 kg vegetables were distributed to Nomadic tribes , bull nodding masters, Street circus players, Whipper beggars, Kuravan SC People, people affected by Leprosy, Scavengers and Narikkuravar tribes. Totally 229 families covering 6 villages received the rice and vegetables distributed.

150 srilankan tamil families are being fed lunch by way of food packets daily.

Rice & Grocery were distributed to the old age homes and daily wage workers who are impacted due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

Annapoorna Theni team is providing medicines for 28 patients.
Corona virus Awareness was spread by Annapoorna volunteers. They distributed 3000 news leaf letters among the citizens living in Theni.
