Saisure Launch in Uttarakhand State by Annapoorna Trust & Uttarakhand Govt

The Annapoorna Breakfast Initiative is one of the flagship service initiatives launched by Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust to bridge the nutrition gap in the country, especially among the school going children from impoverished and rural backgrounds. With a bold and all encompassing motto – “Let no child go to school hungry ever!”. Annapoorna today serves breakfast to over 5,00,000 children daily in 17 states and 3 union territories. The results have been remarkable with fewer children dropouts from school, their academic performance has increased manifold, and malnutrition – a major deterrent has been kept at bay, improving the overall health of children. However, there is still much ground to cover.

During an event on Sep 29, 2019 held at Sri Sathya Sai Grama in Muddenahalli, the Annapoorna team announced in the presence of the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand about the flagship Annapoorna breakfast program in Uttarakhand. The initiative in Uttarakhand was started by Sri Pradeep Batra, an MLA from the state, who was very inspired by the program when he saw it in action during his visit to Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli earlier. Annapoorna now serves 754 children from 8 Govt schools in Uttarakhand.
